1. What we collect
We collect information you give us when you sign up (email, name) and usage data (how you use the product) and technical data (IP, device) needed to run the service. We do not collect or store payment method details—our payment gateway handles all payment processing, and we never see or store your card or bank details. When you upload audio or video for transcription, or use live captioning or text-to-speech, that content is sent to our systems and to the third-party providers we use to perform the processing.
2. How we use it
We use your data to provide and improve our services, send important account or product updates, and comply with law. We do not sell your personal data. Audio or video you upload is deleted immediately after processing; we do not keep it. We keep only the resulting transcription files (text, SRT, VTT) so you can access and download them.
3. Third parties
Transcription, live captioning, and text-to-speech are powered by third-party providers (e.g. AssemblyAI, OpenAI). When you use those features, your audio or text is sent to them in accordance with their privacy policies. We choose providers that commit to appropriate data handling. Payment processing is done entirely by our payment partner (Paystack); we do not collect, see, or store your card or bank details.
4. Retention
We keep your account and usage data for as long as your account is active and as needed for legal or operational purposes. Transcription files (the text and subtitle files we generate) are kept for 30 days, after which they are automatically deleted. You can delete content from your account at any time. We may retain some data where required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g. resolving disputes).
5. Your rights
You may access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data where applicable. You can export or delete your content from the product. If you are in a jurisdiction that grants additional rights (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), you may exercise those rights; we will respond in line with applicable law.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data in transit and at rest. No system is completely secure; we work to reduce risk and will notify you of significant breaches where required by law.
